Helen Louise Silvia Viera

Portsmouth, RI - Helen Louise Silvia Viera, 74, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at St. Annes Hospital, Fall River, MA.She was the wife of Benjamin Viera.Born in Portsmouth, RI, on April 23, 1936, she was the daughter of the late George M. and Helen L. Soares Silvia.Helen worked at NUWC as a Support Services Supervisor for over 40 years. She was a member of the Portsmouth Senior Center. Helen loved gardening, enjoyed working on the computer, loved her six cats, but most enjoyed living life to its fullest. Besides her husband, she is survived by sons, Benjamin M. Viera of Norwich, CT, David J. Viera of Portsmouth, RI, and Kirk A. Moss of Tiverton, RI, her brother, George A. Silvia, Sr. of Tiverton, RI, her grandson, Brandon C. Moss of Tiverton, and two nephews, George A. Silvia, Jr. and Steven Silvia. Calling hours will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010, from 2:00-4:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be private.Donations in her memory may be made to the Portsmouth Multi Purpose Senior Center, 110 Bristol Ferry Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871, or to the Potter League for Animals, P.O.
