Helen Margaret Swift Cross Middletown, RI - Helen Margaret Swift Cross, 84, of the Grand Islander Health Care Center, 333 Green End Avenue, Middletown, RI, formerly of West House, Middletown, and a twenty five year resident of Wareham, MA, died Saturday, January 27, 2007, at the Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Robert K. Cross. Born in New Haven, CT, on September 19, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Margaret Hickey Swift.Mrs. Cross was an avid gardener and a long time member of the Wareham Garden Club, and also a member of the Minot Forest Commission in Wareham, MA. She was also an accomplished competitive swimmer and animal lover. Mrs. Cross grew up in Quincy, MA, and was a 1940 graduate of Quincy High School. She is survived by two sons Robert K Cross Jr. of Newport, RI, and Thomas Clifton Cross of Franklin, MA, a daughter Ann Cobb of Denver, CO, and four grandchildren Kristen Cobb of Astoria, NY, Julia Cobb of Boulder, CO, Matthew Cross of Franklin, MA, and Katelyn Cross of Franklin, MA A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be private.
