Helen Mellekas-Frazer

Middletown, RI - Helen G. Mellekas-Frazer, 84, of Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI, died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late John T. Mellekas Sr. Born in Newport, RI, on December 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James and Julia Marchington.Mrs. Frazer was a member of Trinity Church. She was instrumental in counseling many sick and suffering alcoholic?s to help eliminate their addiction. She was also a member of a local knitting club. Mrs. Frazer was an avid reader, and knitter and loved horseback riding and going to the beach. She is survived by her children, Theodore J. Mellekas and his wife Patricia, John T. Mellekas and Karen DiMattia and her husband Philip A. DiMattia all of Tiverton, RI, her grandchildren Nichole Mellekas of Tiverton, RI, Jane Geraghty and her husband Patrick and Jon T. Jones and his wife Amanda all of Middletown, RI, and her great grandchildren, Ethan Jones, Katie Geraghty and Sean Geraghty all of Middletown, RI. She was the sister of the late William and James Marchington. A Service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at 10:00 am in Newport Memorial Park at the Cemetery Chapel, Howland Avenue, Middletown, RI.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
