Helen Murak

Newport, RI - Helen J. Bajek Murak, 87, of 3C Pond Avenue, Newport, RI, died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at home.She was the wife of the late Stanley M. Murak. Born in Thompsonville, CT on July 12, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Tolfilia Manka Bajek.Mrs. Murak was a communicant of St. Josephs Church and a member of the Edward King Center and Middletown Senior Center. Helen was a loving mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family and her large extended family. She always expressed a kind word for everyone.She is survived by her son Lawrence Murak and his wife Pamela Doughty of Scarborough, ME, she also leaves her daughter-in-law Linda Murak of Exeter, RI, her brothers Edmund Bajek of Enfield, CT and Benjamin Bajek of Andover, MA, her sister Amelia Zenczak of Suffield, CT, her grandchildren, Amber Ranney, Keith Murak, Richard Doughty, Jason Doughty and Stacey Murak and her great grandchildren, William Doughty and Truman Ranney.She was the mother of the late Ronald Murak.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 10:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009, from 6-8 in the funeral homeDonations in her memory may be made to the Edward King Center, 35 King Street, Newport, RI 02840.
