Helen R. Nedeau

Middletown, RI - Helen R Nedeau, 87, of Middletown, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, RI. She was the wife of Edward P. Nedeau. Born in Bloomfield, NJ on July 15, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Helen Reynolds. Helen served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Sergeant. She was on the staff of the "Leatherneck Magazine". Helen and her family lived in Denville, NJ from 1957-1975, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary. After her move to Middletown, she became a communicant of St. Lucys Church and was also a frequent volunteer at the church. Mrs. Nedeau was also a lay member of the Carmelite Order, she was on their council as Treasurer. She was also a loyal member of the Marine Corps League, and enjoyed time spent at the Middletown Senior Center, and enjoyed many camping trips with her family. Besides her husband of 62 years, she is survived by her sons Edward D. Nedeau (Pam Allen) of East Providence, and Joseph D. Nedeau (Jill) of Maryland, two foster sons Luis Luna and Joe Luna, and her daughter-in-law Annette Nedeau of Tiverton. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Jonathan, Veronique, Kiernan, Katherine, and Tracy.She was the mother of the late Michael G. Nedeau and the sister of the late William Reynolds. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 13 from 4:00-8:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Rd, Portsmouth.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 9:00am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial with military honors will follow in Newport Memorial Park, Howland Avenue, Middletown.Donations in her memory may be made to the Marine Corps League Foundation, P.O.
