Portsmouth, - Helena Perry Garcia, 73, of 25 Mare Terrace Portsmouth, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at St. Annes Hospital Fall River, MA.She was the wife of the late Arseno R. Garcia. Born in Fall River, MA on June 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Helena Botelho Perry.Mrs. Garcia worked as a floor manager with CHF Industries, in Fall River from 1958 until her retirement in 1995. She was a communicant of St. Anthonys Church in Portsmouth and was a volunteer at St. Annes Hospital in Fall River. Mrs. Garcia participated in the relay for life for the American Cancer Society and also delivered dafodils for the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Garcia loved gardening. She is survived by two sons John E. Garcia and James J. Garcia both of Portsmouth, RI, two sisters Lillian Rodrigues of Somerset, MA, and Florence Campos of St. Petersburg, FL, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Armand Perry and great grandmother of the late Lucas Garcia. Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 10, 2003, at 9:00 AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony?s Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Pocassett Hill Cemetery in Tiverton. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 1740 Broadway, New York, NY 10014 or to the American Cancer Society, 222 Richmond Street, Suite 200, Providence, RI 02903-4253.
