Henry Francis Crepeault Newport, - Henry Francis Crepeault, 100, of 309 Spring Street Newport, formerly of 14 Philips Avenue Middletown, RI, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at St. Clare Home Newport, RI.He was the husband for 66 years of the late Margaret McDonough Crepeault. Born in Woonsocket, RI on Mar. 26, 1904, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary Ellen Welch Crepeault.He was a 1920 graduate of Woonsocket High SchoolHe received a Mechanical Design Diploma from Rhode Island School of Design.Mr. Crepeault received his BS and Masters Degrees from McKinley Roosevelt in Mechanical Engineering. He also completed specialty coarses in engineering from Brown University, RI He taught mechanical drawing in Woonsocket and Rogers High Schools. During WWII he worked at the Naval Torpedo Station. He also worked as a plant engineer at Quonset Point. Mr. Crepeault worked as a supervising engineer for the Naval Underwater System Center from 1933 - 1960. He was also listed with the US Navy as a Adjunct Professor for the State of RI.After retirment he was Newports first full time City Planner.He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers serving as past president and life member. Past President of the Newport Engineering Society.One of the founders of the De La Salle Fathers Club and its 1st President.Past Exalted Ruler and life member of the Newport Elks Lodge also serving as Past Grand Esquire to the Grand Exalted Ruler of RIMember of the Newport Knights of Columbus.Past Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus General Rose Crans Assembly and a member of its honor guard.He also served as a Trustee of the 4th Degree Knights of ColumbusHe served as the secretary of the Walter Lowry Club.Past President of the Federal Civil Supervisors Association.Past Treasurer and life member of the Newport Yacht Club and served as their Santa Claus.Treasurer and 22 year member of the Edward King Senior Center.2 years after his retirement he was a supervisor of the Neighborhood Youth Corps.First Mayor of the Marshall Village improvement Association.He served as Board of Directors of the Newport Visiting Nurse Service. He is survived by a son Henry Francis Crepeault Jr. of Tarrytown, NY, His funeral will be held Thursday, July 22, at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in St. Coumba Cemetery, Middletown
