Henry L. Silvia

Newport, RI - Henry L. Silvia, passed away at home on Sunday, January 14, 2007. He was born on May 11, 1941, to the late Rose and Manuel Silvia of Middletown. Henry attended Middletown schools and excelled in sports throughout his school years and was awarded many honors for his achievements in basketball and baseball. He continued to play softball for various Newport teams throughout his early adult life until becoming ill. Henry remained an avid sports spectator and enjoyed long, lively conversations pertaining to sports figures and team statistics. He was very fond of Beagle dogs and raised and cared for two of them for the rest of his life. He leaves behind two sisters, Elizabeth MacDonald and Barbara Renick of Middletown, his brother in-law Evan MacDonald, and two nieces, Karen Phillips of Portsmouth and Denise Sullivan of Middletown. Burial will be private.
