Hilliard H. Huggins, Jr

Portsmouth, RI - Hilliard Huggy H. Huggins Jr, 68, of Portsmouth, RI, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013, surrounded by his family. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, April, 1946, he grew up in Middleboro, MA, and was the husband of the late JoAnn Blumsack, his second wife, and the late Michelle Huggins, his first wife. He was the son of the late Lt. Cmdr. Hilliard H. Huggins Sr., U.S. Navy Reserves, and the late Constance H. Connie Huggins, of Swansea, and the brother of the late Cmdr Howard Huggins, US Navy. He is survived by his sons, Joel Blumsack, Dr. Paul Blumsack and his children, and Michael Blumsack; his nephews, John Huggins and Daniel Huggins and their children; his cousin, Gary Jones, and many relatives in Massachusetts, Georgia, Kentucky and Texas. His great grandmother was a Comanche, and he was very proud of his Native American heritage. He was a graduate of Rykers High School in Maryland in 1964 and Babson College in 1968. He had worked for Royal Electric, Textron and various firms in the insurance industry for most of his life. Semi-retired, he became part of several start up companies over the past few years, including USA Rugby Club and The Cheesy Media Company. Personal relationships were important to him and he was loyal to his family and friends. It was about the person for "Huggy". He was always there for you, and he was the first person to step up to the plate.
