Howard E. Wetherell, Jr

Howard E. Wetherell, Jr., 79, of Orange Park, FL, passed away on February 21, 2012. He was the husband of the late Alice Dolly Wetherell.He was born on January 10, 1933, in Newport, RI, to the late Howard E. and Grace Stone Wetherell, Sr.Howard was a career military man, proudly serving in the Air Force, Army and the Navy. He was the recipient of numerous awards and commendations during his military career. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for the US Postal Service until relocating to Florida. Howard had a great passion for travel, the arts, and the outdoors.He is survived by his children, Holly and her husband Louis Amoruso of Middletown RI, and Paget Segerson of Urbanna VA, his sisters Gail and her husband Emery Paiva, and Linda and her husband Frank Miranda, his grandchildren Francisco Amaral, Dominic Amaral and Alexander Amaral, as well as many nieces and nephews.He was also the brother of the late Barbara West and Joan Peckham.His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 11:00am, at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial with military honors will follow at Newport Memorial Park, Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10:00-11:00am prior to his service.Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the United States Olympic Committee,National Processing Center, P.O.
