Newport, RI ? Howard Franklin Hound Dog Holland, 86, of 248 Broadway, Newport, RI, formerly of Tilley Avenue and Pond Avenue, Newport, RI, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of the late Louise Gray Holland. Born in Chelsea, MA, on October 6, 1919, he was the son of the late James and Daisey Stockbridge Holland. Mr. Holland was a retired fishing boat captain. He is survived by his dog Rufus, his brothers Alvernon Holland of Stonington, ME and Corliss Holland of Belfast, ME, his sister Margaret Grindle of Stonington, ME. He was predeceased by brothers James Holland, John Holland, sisters Leah Henderson, Marie Lord, Myrtle Holland and Alice Holland, and many nieces and nephews, good friends Lee Arnold, Barbara Arnold and William Bradford. His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at 12:00p.m. at Newport Memorial Park in the chapel.Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. in the funeral home
