Hugh Hulslander

Middletown, RI - Hugh Hulslander, 76, of 6 High Street, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Amy Keefe Hulslander. Born in Worcester, MA on Apr. 6, 1931, he was the son of the late John D. and Ella Berger Hulslander.Mr. Hulslander served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He owned and operated the former Credit Bureau of Newport and the former Employment Agency of Newport. Hugh was a member of the Newport Lodge of Elks and the Newport VFW and was a past president of the Navy League and the Newport Rotary Club. He was an avid sailor and was a 1951 graduate of Nichols College in Dudley, MA. Besides his wife of 47 years, he is survived by his son, James C. Hulslander and his wife Kimberly Norris of Enfield, CT and his nephew, Kevin Maffei of Enfield, CT.He was the brother of the late John Hulslander. His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 12:00pm, in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Island Annex Cemetery in Newport.Calling hours will be held Friday, May 4, 2007. from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
