Ida Elizabeth Tragakis

Middletown, - Ida ?Betty? Diettrich Tragakis, 84, of 333 Green End Avenue Middletown, formerly of Goat Island, Newport, died Friday, October 25, 2002 at the Grand Islander Nursing Home, Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late Steve Tragakis. Born in Collegeville, PA on June 19, 1918.Mrs. Tragakis operated a hair salon from her home on Spring Street, in Newport. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, the DAV Womens Auxillary and a member of St. Georges Episcopal Church where she was also a Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her son Chris Tragakis currently in Athens, Greeceand his wife Tina Tragakis, a granddaughter Stephanie Tragakis of Baltimore, MD and two brothers James Diettrich and William Diettrich and a her sister Peggy Diettrich, all of Pennsylvania. Her funeral will be held on Friday, November 1, 2002, at 11:00am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
