Ilda Albini

Portsmouth, RI - Ilda (Longo) Albini, , of 56 King Charles Drive, Portsmouth, RI, passed away surrounded by her family on November 09, 2015 in Newport Hospital. She is the wife of the late Vittorio Albini.Born in Pontelandolfo, Italy, on February 11, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Anna (Mancini) Longo.She was a factory worker for Holgrath Industries in Connecticut, retiring in 1995. Ilda was a master gardener who loved baking, cooking, and canning for family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Ilda was very eager to provide blankets, scarfs, and many other items that she was able to create, to everyone that she knew. She was extremely proud to donate hand knit teddy bears to the children in Nicaragua and India.Ilda was a member of St. Barnabas Church Community.She is survived by her two daughters, Rosetta, wife of Giuseppe Izzi of Portsmouth, RI, and Graziella, wife of the late Pietro Perugini of Pontelandolfo, Italy. She also leaves five grandchildren: Maria Vittoria, wife of Giuseppe D'Addona , Angelo Perugini, all of Italy, Annamaria Izzi, Laura Izzi, and Marina Izzi all of Portsmouth, as well as two great grandchildren Pietro and Laura D'Addona of Italy. Ilda is also survived by her loving sister Chiarina, wife of Giuseppe Perugini of Waterbury, CT and her sister-in-law Antonietta, wife of the late Michele Longo of Argentina. In addition to her brother Michele, Ilda was predeceased by her sisters Amelia Rinaldi, Maria Arena, and Giuseppina Fusco. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends that she loved. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 9:00AM at the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass and Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will follow in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown, RI.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday Evening from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Connors Funeral Home.
