Inez Rose Trent

Middletown, RI - Inez Rose Almeida Trent, 92, of 193 Forest Avenue, Middletown, RI, formerly of 58 Hall Avenue, Newport, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late William Louis Trent. Born in New Bedford, MA on October 21, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Manuel F. and Marie Duarte Almeida.Mrs. Trent had worked as an assembler at the former GE Monowatt Plant in Newport, for 18 years, retiring in 1979. She had also worked at the former Naval Torpedo Station on Goat Island during WWII. She was a Communicant of St. Josephs Church in Newport, and a member of the St. Josephs Church Rosary Sodality and a member of the Catholic Daughters. Mrs. Trent enjoyed traveling. She is survived by a daughter Donna Marie Scales of Tiverton, RI, a step son William Louis Trent Jr. of Rio Rancho, NM, a brother Antone Almeida of South Dartmouth, MA, three grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one step great granddaughter.She was also the sister of the late Frank Almeida. Her funeral will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010, at 8:00am, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am, in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in Island Cemetery in Newport.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2010, from 4-7 in the funeral home.
