Irene Barchei Suddaby

Middletown, RI - Irene Barchie Suddaby, 89, of Middletown, RI, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Newport Hospital Newport, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur John Sudday, USNR (RET), who passed away July 25, 2009.Born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 19, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Barcie) Barchie. Mrs. Suddaby graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and also received a Masters degree from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. Her career was in secondary education in Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Mrs. Suddaby was a member of the Newport Hospital Foundation Board of Governors, the Newport Preservation Society and volunteered at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, RI. Mrs. Suddaby is survived by her beloved daughter Cynthia Suddaby Kennedy and her husband Kevin Kennedy opf Elmira, NY, and two loving granddaughters Katherine Suddaby Kennedy of Atlanta, GA and Elizabeth Suddaby Kennedy of Washington, DC.At the request of Mrs. Suddaby her funeral service and burial will be private, from Trinity Episcopal Church in Newport.
