Irene Mary Weeks

Tiverton, - Irene Mary Gheradi Weeks, 77, of Tiverton, RI, formerly of Greenwich, CT, died Saturday, October 4, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY on November 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel Gregis Gherardi. Mrs. Weeks worked as a banker for State National Bank of Greenwich, CT, for 25 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Newport. She was a lover of animals and was active in Forever Paws of Fall River Animal League. She also loved her flower gardens and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren crafts. Mrs. Weeks was a former member of the former Cherry Hill Club of Greenwich, CT and was a former member of St. John Episcopal Church in Greenwich, CT, where she had served on the Altar Guild, the Womens Guild, and church fairs and dinners. She is survived by her son James Weeks of Norwalk, CT, her daughter Cathy Calabrese of Tiverton, RI, three brothers Frank Gherardi of Wethersfield, CT, Trent Gherardi of Yorktown Heights, NY, and Jack Gherardi of Mt. Vernon, NY, her sister Tina Carosella of Bardonia, NY, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Peter Gherardi and Joseph Gherardi.A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2003, at 12:00PM, in St. Peters Lutheran Church, 525 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be private Donations in her memory maybe made to the Forever Paws, 300 Lynwood Street, Fall River, MA, or to the Newport Hospital, Friendship Street, Newport, RI, 02840.
