Newport, RI - Irene Molly (Pemental) Teves, 99, of Heatherwood Nursing Home, Newport, RI, formerly of Casey Drive, Middletown, RI, died on May 16, 2013, at Heatherwood Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Frank Medeiros Teves, Jr. Born in Hamilton, RI on Dec. 8, 1913, she was the daughter of the late August and Angelina (Estrella) Pemental of JamestownMrs. Teves volunteered for many years for Meals on Wheels. She was a communicant of St. Josephs Church. Irene loved to sew. She is survived by her daughters Barbara Schaeffer of DeRidder, LA and Darlene and Bill Gammon of Jamestown, RI, four grandchildren, Teri Meador and Rich of Baton Rouge, LA, Karl Schaeffer and Nancy of Dallas, TX, Wende Blake and Harry Gould of Middletown, RI, and Aimee Blake and Lewis Scherdt of Portsmouth, RI, and ten great grandchildren Philip Schaeffer, Grace Hinton, Kristina Blake, James Meador, Lynn Craft, Anthony Schaeffer, Jared Gould, Jeremy Meador, Cameron Monte, and Jordan Scherdt..She was the sister of the late John Pemental, Manuel Pemental, Frank Pemental, Ruben Pemental, James Pemental, Albert Pemental, William Pemental, Mary Anderson, Lily Dutra and Lucy Silvia. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013, from 4-8pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 9am from the Memorial Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mark's Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI.
