Newport, RI - Irving L. ?Moe? Mosher, 84, of 40A Charles Street Newport, RI, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 12, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.He was the husband of the late Amy Fairfield Daggett Mosher. Born in Newport, RI on October 18, 1919, he was the son of the late Erford Leslie and Cornelia Hull Mosher. Mr. Mosher was stationed in New Guinea serving in the Navy during World War II. He had worked for 20 years as a Front Manager at J. T. OConnells and then for 22 years as a Senior Buyer for Raytheon. Mr. Mosher was an avid salt water fisherman and an avid bowler. He was a member of the Order of Redman, and a member of St. Pauls Methodist Church, where he also served as an usher and worked in their soup kitchen. One of thirteen children he is survived by his companion Shirley Foster of Middletown, RI, his daughter Diane C. Lathan of Middletown, RI, five brothers Lloyd Mosher of Portsmouth, RI, Malcolm Mosher of Marietta, GA, Leonard Mosher of Georgetown, MA, Chester Mosher and Donald Mosher both of Newport, RI, his sister Phyllis Mulligan of Holton, ME, his grandson Michael Scott Picard of Tacoma, WA, his granddaughter Melissa Kelly Bolton of Portsmouth, RI, five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Erford Mosher, Milton Mosher, Earl Mosher, Arthur Mosher and Nettie Mosher. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2004, at 10:00 AM in St. Paul United Methodist Church, 12 Marlborough Street, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
