Middletown, RI - Isabel E. Morgan Albro, 96, of 600 Valley Road, Middletown, RI, formerly of Sayreville, NJ, died Friday, May 5, 2006, at the John Clarke Nursing Home, Valley Road, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Gardner M. Albro. Born in Greenfield, MA, on June 7, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Anna Larrabee Morgan.Mrs. Albro was born and raised in Greenfield, MA. She was a graduate of Greenfield High School, where she was Class Valedictorian, in 1926, and a graduate of UMass Amherst, Class of 1930, where she received her degree in organic chemistry. After graduation, she worked as a lab technician in New York City for several years. She and her husband moved to Sayreville, NJ where she was a devoted mother to her family. While in New Jersey, she was very active in the Conklin Methodist Church in South River, NJ. After her husband?s retirement they moved to Newport. Since living in the Newport area, she was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and has been a volunteer with many community organizations including the Newport Hospital and as a teacher for English as a Second Language. She is survived by two daughters Kirsten Manuel of Newport, RI, and Nancy Fox of Palo Alto, CA, four grandchildren David Mann of Newport, RI, James Mann of Warwick, RI, Alissa Silverman of Santa Monica, CA, and Elizabeth Fox of Emeryville, CA, and four great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Philip Morgan and Nelson Morgan. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Calvary United Methodist Church, Turner and Wyatt Roads, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to in her memory to the Scholarship Fund, Chemistry Department, UMass, Amherst, MA 01003.
