Isabel Negus

Tiverton, RI - Isabel Young Negus, 88, of Tiverton, passed away Friday November 22, 2013 in Newport Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Newport, RI on Jan. 16, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William Young and Elizabeth Oliver Young, and the sister of the late Edward Young of Newport and William Young of Ontario, OR She was the wife of the late Roswell C. Negus, whom she married in 1964. She was employed for many years by Eppley Laboratories in Newport. Isabel served as the secretary and clerk of the vestry at Holy Trinity Church in Tiverton, RI for several years, and headed up the parish's altar guild as well. She was a founder of the Trinity Trader Thrift Shop, and active in many church activities. Isabel loved reading mystery stories, playing cards, volunteering her time to help others, and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Cora Negus Viveiros; her son-in-law, Paul Joseph Viveiros; and her two grandsons, Jacob Ross Viveiros and Daniel John Viveiros, all of Auburndale, MA. She is also survived by her brother William; her cousin Jacqueline Mara of Manchester, NH and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 26, 2013 from 2-5pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday November 27, 2013 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church 1956 Main Rd. in Tiverton, RI.
