J. Neil St. Laurent

Portsmouth, RI - J. Neil St. Laurent, 74, of 182 Riverside Street, Portsmouth, RI, died on Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Georgette Claire Thibeault St. Laurent, who passed away in 2004. Born in Fall River, MA on December 2, 1932, and lived in Portsmouth all his life, he was the son of the Zenon St. Laurent of Portsmouth, RI and the late Lillian Bouchard St. Laurent. Mr. St. Laurent retired as Director of the Public Works Department, for the Town of Portsmouth in 1995, after 27 years of service. Prior to that he held jobs in the sales, construction, and fishing industries. Mr. St. Laurent was a communicant of St. Anthony?s Church. He enjoyed dancing, golfing, trips to Foxwoods and spending time with his family and special friend Lillian Awde of Barrington, RI. Besides his father he is survived by his children, J. Neil St. Laurent and his wife Judy Huff St. Laurent of Virginia Beach, VA, Paul R. St. Laurent and his wife Linda Lima St. Laurent of Portsmouth, RI, Ronald R. St. Laurent and his wife Tina Hasting St. Laurent of Blytheville, AR, Richard J. St. Laurent and his wife Donna Pendell of Portsmouth, RI, Elaine E. Barker and her husband Edward of Citrus Springs, FL, Denise A Medeiros and her husband George of Little Compton, RI, Janet S. Clark and her husband David of Thomaston, ME and Dennis N. St. Laurent and his wife Kathleen Soares of Portsmouth, RI, twenty five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. His funeral will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2006, at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
