John C. "Jack" Donahue Sr., 81 of Warwick, RI, passed away in the afternoon on February 10, 2025. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late John A. and Dorothy (Grace) Donahue.
He was the husband of the late Judith A. Rosewell, brother to the late Claire Medeiros, of Fall River, MA, and the late Dorothy Petras, of PA. Jack leaves his sons Patrick E. Donahue of Woonsocket, John C. Donahue Jr., of East Greenwich, and Michael J. Donahue of Narragansett, and a brother Earl Kendall, of Cranston. Jack leaves four grandchildren Kristen Gagne of Orlando, Florida, Sarah Donahue of East Greenwich, Erik Donahue of Norway, and Jacob Donahue of Narragansett. Jack was the father of the late Pamela R. Donahue and grandfather of the late Stephanie T. Plante of Woonsocket.
A longtime resident of Jamestown, Jack was a lifelong shellfisherman with his sons as well as union carpenter, piledriver, and millwright, working on many large-scale projects throughout Rhode Island and Southeastern New England over the last 60 years. Jack was among only a few Jamestown residents to work on both the Newport Bridge in the 60's and the new Jamestown Bridge in the late 80's when he settled in Jamestown. Throughout the 90's and into the 2000's Jack was a shellfisherman out of Dutch Harbor in Jamestown.
