Connors Funeral Home55 West Main RoadPortsmouth, RI401 683-2511Jack Eugene Buss Portsmouth, - Jack Eugene Buss, BMC, USN, Ret., 64, of 233 Mail Coach Road, Portsmouth, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Misako Ishimoto Buss. Born in Oneida, NY on April 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Edna Johnson Buss. Mr. Buss was in the United States Navy for 20 years retiring in 1975 as a Chief Boatswainmate. After his retirement he worked for the University of Rhode Island in the Oceanography department on the research vessel the Endeavor, retiring in May of 2002 after 23 years.He was a life member of the Fleet Researve Association and also a life member of the V.F.W. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Kevin Michael Buss Portsmouth, RI, his brother Raymond Buss of Oneida, NY, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Bruce Buss, Richard Buss, James Buss . His funeral will be held Saturday, November 9, 2002 at 1:00 PM in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.
