Jack Eugene Buss

Portsmouth, - Jack Eugene Buss, BMC, USN, Ret., 64, of 233 Mail Coach Road, Portsmouth, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Misako Ishimoto Buss. Born in Oneida, NY on April 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Clarence and Edna Johnson Buss. Mr. Buss was in the United States Navy for 20 years retiring in 1975 as a Chief Boatswain Mate. After his retirement he worked for the University of Rhode Island in the Oceanography department on the research vessel the Endeavor, retiring in May of 2002 after 23 years.He was a life member of the Fleet Researve Association and also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Kevin Michael Buss Portsmouth, RI, his brother Raymond Buss of Oneida, NY, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Bruce Buss, Richard Buss, James Buss and his sister the late Helen Buss. A Military Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2002 at 1:00 pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth where Military Honors will be rendered by a Honor Guard from the Newport Naval Base.
