PORTSMOUTH, RI - Jacques Paul Philippe Pags, 80, of 110 Water Street, Portsmouth, RI died Thursday, December 15, 2005 at home. He was the husband of the late Madeleine Olivier Pags.Born in Foix, France on October 2, 1925, he was the son of the late Paul Andre and Suzanne Marie Morere Pags.Mr. Pags joined the Free French Forces during World War II and was trained in the United States as a navigator for the French Air Force. After the war, he completed his education in France and the United States, where he met and married Madeleine Olivier of Fall River, Massachusetts. A widower early in life, Mr. Pags retired as an educator from Portsmouth Abbey in 1984. He is survived by his seven children Paul Pags of Portsmouth, RI, Catherine Pags of Seattle, WA, Andree Pags of New York City, NY, Jean Pags of Needham, MA, Pierre Pags of Warsaw, Poland, Charles Pags of Rockland, MA, and Jacques Pags Jr. of Middletown, RI, fourteen grandchildren as well as by his brother, Jean-Marie and his three sisters, Marguerite Vaillancourt of Portsmouth, Irene Pags of Guelph, Ontario, Canada and Catherine Foote of Arlington, Va. He was the father of the late Michel Pags.His funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 11:00AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Portsmouth Abbey, Corey?s Lane, Portsmouth.
