Newport, RI - Jade Margaret Anne Hall, 56, of 3 Ranger Road, Newport, RI, on April 1, 2008 God chose to bring home one of His own. From this life he took a loving mother, grandmother and a very caring person. Jade was born in Norfolk, VA on August 26, 1951 to the late Myrtle Nelson Hall and Charles Hall of Lynchburg, VA.She graduated from Rogers High School, attended and took several courses at local Universities, including URI, Roger Williams and Rhode Island College. Jade was always seeking ways to improve her knowledge, giving her more tools to advocate on behalf of others.She worked at the Dr. Martin Luther King Center, the Newport Naval Exchange and the Uniform Shop. She was also employed by Eastern Resorts as a telemarketer. She volunteered at the Newport Residents Council offices located at the Florence M. Gray Center, Sims Street and the Building of Hope at One Park Holm, over the last couple of decades. Her community involvement included The National Peoples Action NPA, Newport Residents Council and the Residents Advisory Board RBA and the Newport Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. Over the years she attended several conferences and seminars and was always an active participant.She leaves to mourn a daughter, Nikki Hall of North Carolina and two granddaughters, Mytia and Tyonna Hall of Newport. She is also survived by four sisters; Charlotte Hall Kiss of Middletown, RI, Gloria Hall Bernstein of Cranston, RI, Fay Hall Akimorimisi, of Maryland and Florstine Hall Baker of Charlotte, NC, three nephews Jackie W. Baker, Dason D. Kiss and Brandon Kiss, and five nieces Natalya, Tamika, Victoria, Tiffany, Monique and Mariah. She is preceded in death by twin sister Myrtle and Betty Hall Rice.Her services were private.
