James C. Protulis, 76, New York City, NY, formerly of Newport, died Saturday, June 1, 2002. Born in Boston, MA on January 29, 1926, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Toula Aramvoglou Protulis. Mr. Protulis was a Graduate of Rogers High School. He went on to MIT where he received a Chemical Engineering Degree in 1948. He served in the United States Army and following which he attended Columbia University and received his masters degree in Economics. Then Mr. Protulis worked in the financial markets in New York City as a Block Trader for Institutional Investors on Wall Street. He is survived by his sister Demetra Protulis Boulas of Dallas, TX, 2 Nephews, and 3 Great Nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at 9:30AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by funeral services 10:30AM in St. Spyridons Greek Orthodox Church, 390 Thames Street, Newport. Interment will be in Middletown Cemetery, corner of Turner and Wyatt Roads, Middletown.
