James F. Robinson, 89, of 65 Kaufman Road, Tiverton, RI, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 at the Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Mildred Whalen Robinson. Born in Bethel, Delaware, on July 1, 1918, he was the son of the late Bessie Hopkins.Mr. Robinson grew up in Delaware and enlisted in the US Navy at age 18. He served in WWII and Korea, and retired after 25 years of service. He had also worked at Raytheon in Dighton, MA, and for the former Crestwood Nursing Home in Fall River, MA. He loved gardening and caring for his yard, fixing things and staying busy at his home, where he lived since 1952. Mr. Robinson was also a member of the Portsmouth Masonic Lodge. He is survived by two daughters Catherine Pacheco and her husband Joseph of Fall River, MA Linda Poe of Fall River, MA, and five sons Brian Robinson and James Robinson both of Bristol, RI, Kevin Robinson of Aurora, CO, William Robinson of Fall River, MA, and Stephen Robinson of Tiverton, RI, and 8 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown. Calling hours are omitted.
