James F. Sullivan, 83, of Balsam Avenue, Middletown, passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 at home.He was the husband of the late Joan F. Prasso Sullivan whom he married October 2, 1957.Born in Newport on May 30, 1924, he was a son of the late John L. and Nora G. Sullivan Sullivan.Mr. Sullivan was a 1942 graduate of DeLasalle and was a supervisor at the Naval Education Training Center NETC at the Newport Naval Base before retiring in 1984. He was a US Army veteran of World War II serving with the 1st Infantry Division in the Europeon Theatre participating in the Normandy Invasion. He is survived by three daughters, Kim E. Raposa of Tiverton, RI, Karen M. Souza of Portsmouth, RI and Jean A. Sullivan of Quincy, MA, and two grandchildren, Stephen S. Souza and Meghan T. Souza. He was the brother of the late John Sullivan, Kathleen Huddleston and Mary Sullivan.Funeral services will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
