James Francis Roberts, Iii

Port St. John, FL - James J.R. F. Roberts, III, 61, formerly of Portsmouth, RI, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2009 at home in Port St. John, FL.J. R. was a decorated SGT in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-70, also serving in Vietnam combat, 1968. J. R. retired on October 31, 2003 after working 32 years as a lineman with Florida Power and Light Company. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 359, Port St. John and Post 22 of Cocoa, VFW Post 4534 of Rockledge and Post 2007 of W. Palm Beach. J. R. is survived by his brothers Danny Griswold and his wife Pat of Cumberland, RI, Billy Griswold of Portsmouth, RI, Peter Roberts and his wife Donna, Maurice Roberts and his wife Martha and Mark Roberts and his wife Alicia all of Portsmouth, RI, his sister Kathleen Doyle of Salisbury, NH, his daughters Tammie Glazner and her husband Jim of Birmingham, AL, Brenda Eranen of Plant City, FL and Corrine Birchfield and her husband Konrad of Mims, FL, his son James F. Roberts IV and his wife Ashley and he was the beloved grandfather of ten grandchildren.He was predeceased by his brother, Matthew and his parents, James F. Roberts, Jr. and Mary Kathleen Doyle of Portsmouth, RI. His funeral will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at 11:00 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial with full military honors will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or American Legion.
