Middletown, RI - Jane Corwin Johnson, 90, of Blenheim-Newport, 303 Valley Road Middletown, formerly of Stamford, CT and Ft. Pierce, FL, died Friday, May 13 passed away at her home. She was the wife of the late Woodrow D. Johnson and the late Robert D. Rinehart. Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 4, 1915, she was the daughter of Frank L. Corwin and Florence Preston Corwin. Mrs. Johnson graduated from Girls High School in Brooklyn, NY and from Katherine Gibbs School in New York City, NY. She originally lived in Chicago and moved to Stamford, CT where she worked most recently for Moore Munger Company of Fairfield, CT, as director of the Traffic Department and Customer Relations. Mrs. Johnson was a member and deacon of the North Stamford Congregational Church in Stamford and also was very involved in Red Cross and the Girl Scouts. She was also an avid bridge player and golfer. She is survived by two daughters Merry A. Preston Barker of Newport, RI, and Jane J. Wallace of Alexandria, VA, sons in law Stephen C. Barker and Robert B. Wallace; two grandchildren Mead A. Wallace of San Francisco, CA and Jared C. Wallace of Marblehead, MA, and step sons Martin and Douglas Rinehart. Her memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 18 at 3:00pm in Blenheim Newport, 303 Valley Road Middletown. Burial will be in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn the following day.
