Janet Amory Grinnell

PORTSMOUTH, RI - Janet Amory Ginnell, 74, of 2 Atlantic Avenue, Portsmouth, RI died Thursday, November 10, 2005 at Catholic Memorial Home Fall River, MA. She was the wife of Kenneth Jason Grinnell. Born in Swampscott, Massachusetts on February 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Francis Amory and Emily Monroe Spurr. Mrs. Grinnell was a homemaker who loved to travel with her family in the Western United States. She worked at the former restaurant ?Shermans Spa?. In the late 1960s she worked for the Portsmouth School Department as a teachers aide and drove the travel-labfor Portsmouth. Mrs. Grinnell loved to collect figurines of roosters or any other rooster theme items. She was a former member of the ?Town Howlers?.She is survived by her children Kenneth J. Grinnell Jr. of Manchester, NH, James A. Grinnell of Portsmouth, RI, and Mariam Lynne Carson of Portsmouth, RI, her grandchildren Renee M. Grinnell and Graham N. Grinnell of Manchester, NH, Lauren M. Carson of East Providence, RI, Suzanne E. Carson of Portsmouth, RI, Michelle Carson-Ames and Brian Carson-Ames of Portsmouth, RI, her brother Donald G. Spurr of Exeter, NH, her sister Marilyn M. DeSilva of Portsmouth, RI, and nieces and nephews. Services will be private.
