Janet Arlene Condry

Newport, - Janet Arlene Hart Condry, 88, of Heatherwood Health Care Center Newport, formerly of 19 Chapel Street, Newport, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Heatherwood Health Care Center Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late James W. Condry. Born in Little Compton, RI on January 30, 1915, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Edith Jane Briggs Hart. Mrs. Condry resided in Tiverton for most of her life, moving to Newport in the 1950?s to continue raising her family. She was employed for many years at the Navy Exchange. She retired in 1980 from Raytheon where she worked in the Food Services program. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and handcrafts. She is survived by two sons Daniel J. Condry of Newport, RI, and James W. Condry of Somerset, MA, her daughter E. Jane Condry Wood of Fernandina Beach, FL, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three nieces.She was the sister of the late Ralph Hart and Laura Hart Gadsby. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2003, at 11:00AM, in Pleasant View Cemetery, Old Stone Church Road, Tiverton, RI.
