Jean Elizabeth Kelly

Kelly, Jean E. 61, of Old Beach Road died peacefully at Newport Hospital on Friday, June 26th. She was the wife of John Michael Kelly. She was born in Providence. She was raised in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Caine Egan. She graduated from St. Marys Academy, Bay View and Salve Regina University. After teaching in Pawtucket, she moved to Newport where she spent twenty years working in retail. She retired from Talbots in 2003. An avid member of Hazards Beach Club, she also enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her son John Kevin Kelly and his spouse Erika Buck Kelly of San Francisco, CA and her two grandchildren, John Alexander Kelly and Rowan Elizabeth Kelly. She is also survived by her three sisters, Charlene Mullen Joseph of Seekonk, MA, Catherine Gallacher of Manchester, CT, and Barbara Hodge William of Wakefield, RI, and many nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10am at St. Josephs Church, Broadway, Newport, Rhode Island. Burial will be private. No calling hours.
