Jean Francis Thomas

Middletown, RI - Jean Frances Thomas, 87, of 600 Valley Road, Middletown, RI, formerly of Hammond Street, Newport, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Chester John Thomas, Jr. Born in Newport, RI on January 25, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Catherine Burke Ryan.Mrs. Thomas was a cook with the Newport School Lunch Program at Carey Elementary School and Rogers High School for 15 years before retiring in 1973. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Newport She is survived by her daughter, Jo-Ann Frances Fenn and her husband, Earl, of Newport, RI, her brother, Robert Ryan of Attleboro, MA, her grandson, Earl Buddy Francis Fenn III and his wife, Kassi, of Newport, RI, and two nephews and one niece. The funeral will be held Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 8 am from Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in Island Cemetery Annex, Newport.Calling hours are Friday, October 12, 2007 from 3-6 pm in the funeral home.
