Middletown, RI - Jean Harrison Perry, 83, of 230 Turner Road, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at home, she was the wife of the late Charles E. Perry for 40 years. Born in Boston, MA on June 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Chipman Harrison.Mrs. Perry was a graduate of Newton High School, Newtonville, MA, and Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She was a secretary for Lewis Company, Inc., sugar brokers, until she moved to RI with her family, in August 1945, at which time she was employed at her fathers Ford dealership. A member of the United Congregational Church in Middletown, she also was a past member of the Newport Hospital Womens Auxiliary, having served on the Board as well as a volunteer worker for flower delivery and Meals on Wheels. An active bowler for years, she was a member of two leagues, and was a CB enthusiast using Goldfinch as her handle. Two children survive her, a daughter Pamela E. G. Watson of Alma, Georgia and a son B. Vernon Graham III of Providence, RI. Other survivors are two grandsons, Dustin G. Erb of CT, and Kevan T. Erb and his wife Heather and two great granddaughters, Micaiah and Christina Erb all of Woodstock, GA. Immediate relatives are her sister, Annabelle H. Fagan, nephews Stephen G. Fagan, Bernard J. Fagan, Jr. of Middletown Scott H. Fagan of Portsmouth, RI and Adam Kela Fagan of Warren, RI. She was the stepmother of Richard A. Perry of Pace, FL, Arthur C. Perry of Newport, Joan Robinson of FL, William Perry of Brockton, MA and Ann Chesser of Washington, PA and the late Robert Perry of New Mexico.There were multiple step grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren who had a very important place in her heart, as well as other family members of her late husband. A burial service will be held at the Middletown Cemetery, corner of Wyatt and Turner Roads, Middletown, on Monday, September 17, 2007 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated by the Friendship Fund of Newport Hospital, 11 Friendship Street, Newport, RI 02840 so named by her father or an organization of your choice.
