Jean M. (Millar) Cleasby, 86, of Middletown died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Newport Hospital.She was the wife of Frederick W. Cleasby.Born on October 21, 1926 in Bala Cynwyds, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Freda (Strawhacker) Millar. Mrs. Cleasby worked as a keypunch operator for Sunoco Co. in Philadelphia. She worked at the Planetarium in the Gaudet School and as a Tape Librarian for NUSC on the Thresher Project.Besides her husband of 63 years, she is survived by her children, Linda J. Serotta and her husband Edward of North Borough, MA, Barbara A. Watterson and her husband Paul of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Johnston, RI and Robert W. Cleasby and his wife Nancy of Middletown, RI, and her grandchildren, Rachel Serotta, Andrew Serotta, Brendan Watterson and Matthew Watterson.She was the sister of the late Freda Millar, Marion Hocker and Betty Aspen.A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00am in St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Burial will be private.
