Jean Marie Stafford

Portsmouth, - Jean Marie Marshall Stafford, 79, of 538 Park Avenue Portsmouth, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.She was the wife of Richard Lucius Stafford II. Born in Fall River, MA on July 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Marshall. Mrs. Stafford had worked as a licensed practical nurse at St. Annes Hospital in Fall River, MA, for 4 years. She was a US Navy WAVE Veteran serving during WWII as a Pharmacists Mate Third Class. Mrs. Stafford was a Communicant of St. Anthonys Church in Portsmouth. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons Richard L Stafford III of Lagrange, GA, Robert A. Stafford of New Britain, CT, and Roy E. Stafford of LaMesa, CA, a brother Andrew Marshall of Naples, FL, a sister Doris Emsley of Seattle, WA, 8 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Alexander Marshall, John Marshall, Joseph Marshall, and Mildred Norwicki.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at 10:00 AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Portsmouth Cemetery, Turnpike Avenue, Portsmouth.
