Jean Mary Neves

Newport, RI - Jean Mary (Andrews) Neves, 75, a lifelong resident of Newport, RI passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family after a long and heroic battle with cancer. She was the wife of Francisco Neves.Born in Newport, RI on May 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel Andrews and Georgina (Montiero) Andrews.Jean was a homemaker, she loved maintaining her garden and selling Avon Products over the years. Most of all she loved her family and friends and constantly showed the love in her unselfish and caring ways She made a difference in all of the lives that she touched, and will be truly missed by her family and friends as earth has one gentle soul less and heaven one angel more. Her life a beautiful memory, her absence a silent grief. In God's care she rests above, in our hearts she rests in love. Besides her husband of 58 years, she is survived by her children, Jay Anthony Neves and Nichelle Neves-Smith and her husband Jeffrey Smith of Bartlett, NH, her sisters, Donna Rose of Portsmouth, RI, Joan Andrews of Sandwich, MA, and Beverly Brozozg of Nassau Bahamas, her grandchildren, Katja Neves, Jordan and Samantha Vann, Joshua and his finacee Stephanie Santos, Jayden and Quinn Neves and her great grandchildren Jordan Neves Jr., Janessa, Johnathan, and Joshua Neves Jr. as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 8AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Spring Street, Newport, RI.
