Newport, RI - Jeanne Ann Jolie Peckham, 69, of the Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI, formerly of 1305 Wapping Road, Middletown, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late John Conley Peckham Sr. Born in Newport, RI, on December 9, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Eleanor Matthews Jolie.Mrs. Peckham had attended St. Columba Berkeley Memorial Chapel. She had worked as a secretary for Sherman Insurance of Portsmouth. Mrs. Peckham was active in the RI State Grange where she was a 7th Degree member. She was a 55 year member of the Aquidneck Grange #30 and was also a member of the Newport County Pomona Grange. She was an avid knitter and loved to play cards. She is survived by a son John Conley Peckham Jr. of Middletown, RI, a daughter Cynthia L. Dias of Middletown, RI, and three grandchildren Julia Grace Peckham, Hollis Tucker Peckham, and Orrin David Peckham. She was also the sister of the late Robert Jolie and William Jolie.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 10:00 am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2008, from 5-8 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home.
