Jeannette A. Laflamme

Jeannette A. Remillard Laflamme of Jamestown, RI, formerly of Springfield, MA passed away peacefully on November 30, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born January 12, 1929, to the late Elzear and Clara Remillard, Jeannette is survived by her best friend and beloved husband Emile N. Laflamme with whom she celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past July. She is survived by her children: Maurice Moe Laflamme and his wife Mary-Ann of Jamestown, RI; Linda Laflamme and her husband Kenneth Gendall of Haverhill, MA; Lana Romano and her husband Michael of Barrington, RI; Lori Prior and her husband Richard of Glastonbury, CT. She was predeceased by her son Robert Laflamme. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Pamela Segerstedt and her husband Richard of Walpole, MA. She is survived by three sisters, Bertha Millette; Lorraine Missette and Cecile Benoit of Massachusetts; predeceased by her brothers Harvey, Roger, Maurice, and sisters Julie, Lillian, and Nella. Jeannette loved spending time with her loving family to whom she devoted her life, and her many dear friends. She was a very talented seamstress, painter, and gardener. She has 9 grandchildren: Heather Gay and husband David of Westwood, Kara Ibarra and husband Raul of Providence; Reece, Noel and Marc Laflamme; Michael Romano; Jennifer, Jessica and Caitlin Prior. Jeannette also has 5 great-grandchildren with another on the way: Alexis, Emilea, and Aubrey Gay; Gabriel and Jude Ibarra. She will be greatly missed by all. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 3, from 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI.
