Middletown, RI - Jefferson Davis Wallace, Jr., of 70 Everett Street, Middletown, RI, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. He was the husband of the late Shirley Ann Michner Wallace. Born in Nation City, NJ, on August 14, 1930, he was the son of the late Jefferson Davis and Edna Mae Murphy Wallace.After serving in the United States Navy for 20 years as a boilerman, Mr. Wallace worked at Salve Regina in the Maintenance Department, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the D.A.V./Fleet Reserve in Middletown and the Fall River VFW and also a Hibernian in Newport. Mr. Wallace was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his son Jefferson Davis Wallace III of Manassas, VA, his daughter Nancy A. Winsor of Middletown, RI, his grandchildren Jodi Marvelle of Newport, RI, Casey Stump, Robert Stump, Christopher Stump and Nathan Wallace all of Middletown, RI, and his great grandchildren Brenton Marvelle and Cameron Marvelle of Newport, RI. His funeral will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 11:00a.m., in the chapel at Newport Memorial Park, Vaucluse Avenue, Middletown. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held the morning of his service from 10-11a.m., in the chapel at Newport Memorial Park.
