Jeffery A, Affonso

Middletown, RI - Jeffery A. Affonso, 57, of Middletown, died surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital Providence, RI. He was the husband of Sandra Affonso, his "Baby Doll" the love of his life. Born in Bridgeport, CT on November 1, 1957, he was the son of Joseph Affonso of Tiverton, RI and the late Jacqueline C. (LaLiberty) Affonso. "Big Jeff" moved to Portsmouth and lived in Melville in his youth before moving to Newport. As a young man he loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing which he continued throughout his life with his sons by his side. He was self-employed as a carpenter through-out his life. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends with many nights spent in the backyard around a fire. Besides his wife of 28 years, he is survived by his children, Jeffery A. Affonso II and Joseph J. Affonso both of Middletown and Michele Camara of Newport, and his siblings, Joseph M. Affonso and John F. Affonso both of Newport, and Jacqueline A. Affonso of Middletown, and several nieces and nephews. He was "Papa" to his special little girl "Khloey Belle".He was the brother of the late James D. Affonso. At the request of the family services are private.
