Jeffrey Jay Pimentel

Jeffrey Jay Pimentel, 55, of Dexter Street, Portsmouth, RI, was raised into Heaven to meet his Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2016. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 25 years, Laurie (Islieb) Pimentel. Born and raised in Portsmouth, RI, he was the son of the late John J. Pimentel, Sr. and Angela M. (Aguiar) Pimentel and had previously lived in Connecticut for 25 yearsJeff created and operated his own computer consulting business, which he maintained for more than 30 years. He also taught adult education computer courses in Middletown, CT for many years.Jeff loved traveling with his family and strived to make their vacations special by researching trips and finding unique, exciting places to take them. He was a skilled guitarist, blessed with a beautiful voice, who loved to play and sing. He lovingly gave his time to any and all who needed him. Most of all, he was a pastor and fervent believer in God, who taught the lessons of the Bible through word, and more importantly by example. Jeff was loved, admired and respected by all who knew him.He is survived by his siblings Joanne Medeiros (Edward), John Pimentel, Jr. (partner, Sandra Supper), Joyce Tavares (David), J. John "Jack" Pimentel, Jeanne Fitzpatrick (Charles), all of Portsmouth, RI, and Judith Braga of Freetown, MA. He also leaves behind his girlfriend and constant companion, Ellen Smith of Fall River, MA. He passed away in his sleep after a very long battle with Myasthenia Gravis.Calling hours will held on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 2-6 pm in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.His funeral will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 9 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Anthony's Church, East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
