Jennie Ruth Kitch

- Jennie R. Cochrane Kitch, 86, of 51 Middle Road Portsmouth, formerly of Festival Field Apartments, Newport, died Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at Village House Newport, RI. Born in Portsmouth, RI on February 12, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Ainsworth and Margaret Tarr Cochrane.Mrs. Kitch worked at Nadeaus in Island Park and on East Main Road from 1950 to 1960 as a clerk and retired from the Newport Hospital where she worked as a housekeeper. She was a member of the Portsmouth United Methodist church were she was also a superindent of Sunday school for 15 years. She is survived by her son Norman ?Owen? Kitch of Groveland, FL, and six grandchildren.She was the mother of the late Miriam Firby and the sister of the late Madge Cochrane. A memorial service will be announced in October.
