Jennifer Kane

Middletown, RI - Jennifer Nifer Shea Kane, 44, of Middletown, RI, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Miriam Hospital, Providence, RI. Born in Newport, RI on December 18, 1966, she was the daughter of Barry and Janet Kerrigan Shea.Jennifer was a 1984 graduate of Middletown High School. She also attended Northeastern University. Jennifer was a loving and devoted mother. She was the family organizer. She worked as a paralegal for Sheehan and Associates, and also at the A Market on Bellevue Ave in Newport. She was a very active parishioner in St. Barnabas Church where she taught CCD and devoted many hours to the Annual St. Barnabas Festival. Besides her parents, she is survived by her daughters, Rose-Ellen Shea Kane and Emma Newbury Kane of Middletown, RI, her brothers, Christopher Shea and his wife Charity of Portsmouth, and Kevin Shea and his wife Keri of Portsmouth, RI, her sister Nella Shea Weaver and her husband Michael of Bellevue, WA, her nieces and nephews, Katelyn, Jarryd, Liam, Ayla, Hazel, Gus, Mickey, Josephine, Noah, and Greyson, her uncles, Terence Shea, and John Newbury, her aunts, Kathy Dasney, Re Kerrigan, Nancy Newbury, Mary Ellen Newbury, Jane Newbury, Helen Burke and Mary Sheeky, her great aunt Rosalie Nichols, her god daughter Ashley and many cousins. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
