Newport, RI - Jennifer Lynn OHanley, 38, of Newport, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at home in Newport, RI.Born in Southampton, NY on August 10, 1975, she was the daughter of Steven Conklin of Bangor, ME and the late Nancy (Sterling) Conklin.Jennifer attended school in New York before moving to Rhode Island in 1989. She attended both Middletown and Rogers High School. Jennifer was a devoted and loving mother. Her best and proudest moments were always shared with her son Gage and daughters Kyra and Julia. There was nothing more important to her than giving her children an abundance of love and life adventure. Sunday's were always family fun day; spent doing an activity together.She dedicated her working life to the hospitality industry in Newport working in many of our local restaurants. If you were lucky enough to be waited on by her she was certain to become your new favorite waitress. She was a caretaker and was always quick to lend a helping hand to whomever needed it. Jennifers vibrancy and sunshine would bring light to the darkest day. She was a fun and kind soul who loved to create and craft jewelry. She loved all things sparkly and shiny; if she could bedazzle something she would. She loved to cook, hot summer days at the beach, playing bocce and competitive scrabble matches with her sisters- in- law. She had an infectious laugh, a benevolent spirit and a special magic with babies. Her sister Stephanie is grateful to have shared a special summer with her last year that was full of laughter. She was a beloved aunt to Stephanie's children Sebastian most especially to her niece, Bella Rose.In addition to her sister Stephanie Marks, Jennifer is also survived by her son Gage and two daughters Kyra and Julia, all of Newport as well as her former husband Peter OHanley of Newport, whom affectionately called her Peaches. Lastly, Jennifer survives her brothers Joseph, Jeremy and Joshua Conklin, all of Bangor, ME, her former father and mother-in-law Donald and Carole O'Hanley of Middletown, RI, sisters-in-law Meredith, Andrea and Heather and brother-in-law Thomas. Jennifer is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many friends.Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Per the request of her son Gage, attendants are asked to wear something colorful to honor Jennifer.
