Middletown, RI - Jesse D. Silvia, 74, of West House, Forest Avenue, Middletown, RI, died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. Born in Middletown, RI on May 11, 1933, he was the son of the late Frank M. and Mary Medeiros Silvia.A life long resident of Middletown, Jesse worked as a mechanic for Harrison Ford Co. and in janitorial/maintenance in the Middletown School Department and St. Georges School for 18 years, retiring in 1996. He is survived by his sons Edward P. Silvia of St. Georges, Bermuda and Joseph J. Silvia of West Palm Beach, FL, his brother Frank Moniz of Middletown, RI, his sisters Rose Rosa of Middletown, RI, Flora Borsare of Boxford, MA, Gloria Silvia of Newport, RI, and Mary Leyden of Middletown, RI, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.He was the father of the late Roberta ?Robbie? Silvia, Sean D. Silvia and Jessica Silvia McFadden and the brother of the late Anthony Moniz and Manuel ?Mickey? Silvia. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007, 11:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be private.Calling hours are omitted.
