Middletown, - Jesse Joseph Almeida, Jr., 69, of 169 Fayal Lane Middletown, died Saturday, May 3, 2003 at home.He was the husband of Joan B. Lawrence Almeida. Born in Middletown, RI on January 13, 1934, he was the son of Emily Alvernas Almeida of Middletown and the late Jesse Joseph Almeida Sr. Mr. Almeida was a retired operating engineer from the Operating Engineers Union Local #4 and Union Local #57. He enjoyed repairing heavy equipment and tractors in his spare time. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Jesse J. Almeida III of Middletown, RI, two daughters Jean Bagley of Stockholm, NJ, and Lisa Achilles of Ocoee, FL, two brothers Frederick Almeida of Glocester, RI, and Joseph Almeida of Middletown, RI, his sister Bernadette Faria of Middletown, RI, and two grandsons.He was the brother of the late Albert Almeida and Richard Almeida.A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at 11:00am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Donations in his memory may be made to the Middletown Rescue Wagon Fund, 239 Wyatt Road, Middletown, RI 02842..
